Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Security Guard to safeguard the Auto-Sleepers premises, production facilities, finished vehicles, and personnel. The successful candidate will patrol the site, monitor access points and surveillance equipment, and respond promptly to any security incidents, working under the direction of the Security Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the factory, yard, and vehicle storage areas at scheduled intervals to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access
- Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control points
- Control entry and exit of staff, visitors, contractors, and delivery vehicles; check ID and sign visitors in/out
- Conduct opening and closing security checks of buildings, gates, and vehicle compounds
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and security breaches, and escalate to the Security Supervisor or emergency services as required
- Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily occurrence records
- Safeguard high-value stock, including completed motorhomes and campervans, materials, and equipment
- Report any faults with fencing, lighting, gates, or security equipment
- Assist with fire safety checks and emergency evacuation procedures
- Provide a visible, professional security presence and represent the company appropriately to visitors and staff
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a security guard role, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or vehicle compound setting
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills, for accurate report writing
- Honesty, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically fit, able to patrol a large site including outdoor areas in all weather
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
