Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ceiling Fixer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ceilings in a variety of commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Experience in related trades such as roofing, plastering, or carpentry is highly desirable. Duties
- Measure and mark ceiling areas according to project specifications using schematics and drawings
- Install ceiling frameworks, including metal or wooden supports, ensuring structural integrity
- Fit ceiling panels, tiles, or plasterboard securely in place using hand tools and power tools
- Repair or replace damaged ceilings, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing projects
- Collaborate with other trades such as electrical or plumbing teams to ensure seamless integration of services
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project phase
- Assist in fabricating custom components for specialised ceiling designs when required
Skills
- Proven experience in construction-related trades such as carpentry, plastering, masonry, or roofing
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in ceiling installation and repair
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and execute tasks accordingly
- Familiarity with welding, fabrication, electrical experience, plumbing, or masonry is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety protocols
- Good physical fitness for lifting materials and working at heights safely
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and other tradespeople
