The Resourcing Manager plays a pivotal role in the delivery of BCA Logistics’ hiring strategy by leading and developing our internal recruitment and onboarding function to deliver top talent to the business.
Managing a team of Resourcing and Onboarding Coordinators, the Resourcing Manager will ensure we consistently deliver high volume, high-quality self-employed drivers and Head office / Employed staff at pace, using effective attraction methods and delivering an exceptional experience to both candidates and hiring stakeholders.
The role is accountable for driving operational excellence across the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, ensuring full compliance, strong forecasting capability and efficient cost management, while building strong cross-functional relationships with the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing recruitment and onboarding team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Set clear KPIs, workload plans, and performance expectations to successfully deliver weekly hiring volumes.
- Support team development through regular 1:1s, capability building, coaching, and succession planning.
- Develop and implement a scalable direct-sourcing strategy to attract high volumes of self-employed drivers across the UK
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle in a high-volume environment, ensuring consistency, compliance, and speed of delivery.
- Drive labour forecasting and workforce planning in partnership with Operations, enabling accurate anticipation of peaks, troughs, and geographic needs.
- Ensure attraction channels (Indeed, Meta, referrals, Google Ads, etc.) are optimised for volume, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Lead the administration, maintenance and optimization of our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation to reduce time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and candidate drop-off.
- Build strong partnerships across Operations, Training, HR and Finance to ensure alignment, accurate forecasting, and timely delivery.
- Communicate recruitment performance, risks, and insights to senior leaders with clarity and confidence.
- Manage cost control and identify efficiencies across attraction channels, tools, and third-party suppliers.
- Track and manage ROI on advertising spend, technology costs, and external partnerships.
- Provide accurate, timely resourcing MI including pipeline activity, attraction performance, conversion rates, forecasting accuracy, and cost-per-hire.
- Use data to drive decision-making around channel optimisation, resource allocation, and process enhancements.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience managing recruitment teams in a high-volume, fast‑paced operational environment.
- Strong people management capability with a track record of leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Experience managing large-scale recruitment peaks, variable weekly hiring targets and significant candidate volumes.
- Demonstrable experience in budget ownership, cost management, and achieving efficiency improvements.
- Strong understanding of attraction strategies across paid media, social platforms, and direct sourcing.
- Proven ability to analyse recruitment metrics, identify trends, and drive data-led decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of operating confidently with senior leaders.
- Strong understanding of compliance, right-to-work, onboarding processes, and risk management.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and deliver results at pace.
- Experience working with self-employed workforce models (desirable).
