We are looking for a kind, engaging and proactive self-employed companion to provide social and day-to-day support for an older lady in the Blackheath area.
This is a companionship-focused role, ideal for someone who has experience supporting people living with dementia and genuinely enjoys helping someone stay active, socially connected and engaged with life.
Approximately 21 hours per week

There may be the opportunity to add additional hours or days in the future.
The Role
The focus is on companionship, social engagement and helping our client enjoy her day-to-day life. Activities may include:
- Accompanying her on walks and encouraging her to remain active
- Going to cultural activities, cafés and other outings
- Accompanying her to appointments where required
- Attending activities in the area with her and joining in with her
- Sharing relaxed conversation and providing positive, friendly company
- Suggesting enjoyable and mentally stimulating activities based on her interests
- Encouraging healthy eating and positive daily routines
- Supporting her to maintain independence and confidence when out and about
She has a mobility scooter available, but walking and maintaining mobility are also important.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in supporting someone living with dementia
- Warm, patient and dependable
- Sociable and a good conversationalist
- Proactive and imaginative when suggesting activities
- Able to provide stimulation and encouragement without being overbearing
- Comfortable accompanying someone to activities and outings
- Interested in helping someone maintain an active and enjoyable lifestyle
A driving licence and your own car are essential for this role.
Employment Status
This is a self-employed position. The successful person will provide their services on a self-employed basis and will be responsible for their own tax, National Insurance and other self-employment obligations.
