Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced engineer to join our growing team. While experience within the automatic door industry is highly desirable, we also welcome applications from engineers with backgrounds in access control, door entry, fire alarm, security systems, CCTV, gates, barriers, or related electrical/mechanical disciplines.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the automatic door industry. Full training will be provided to candidates with relevant transferable skills and experience.
The successful candidate will carry out installation, repair, maintenance, and fault-finding on a wide range of automatic door systems while delivering excellent customer service and technical support.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, repair, and maintain automatic doors, including swing, sliding, and bi-folding systems.
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime and improve reliability.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers and site teams.
- Complete all required service reports and documentation accurately.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in good condition.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Support and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry technologies, regulations, and best practices.
RequirementsEssential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in one of the following sectors:
- Automatic doors
- Access control systems
- Door entry/intercom systems
- Fire alarm systems
- CCTV and security systems
- Automatic gates and barriers
- Other related electrical or electromechanical engineering fields
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on automatic door systems.
- BS7036 and EN16005 knowledge.
- Record automatic door knowledge.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and service contracts.
- Relevant industry qualifications in electrical, security, fire, or access control systems.
Training Provided
Candidates with experience in access control, door entry, fire alarms, CCTV, gates, barriers, or security systems who have transferable skills will receive full training and ongoing support to become qualified Automatic Door Engineers.
