We are looking for an experienced and organised Sameday Transport Planner to join our busy transport team based out of our warehouse in Huyton, Liverpool.
This is a fast-paced role where you will be responsible for planning and coordinating sameday deliveries and collections across the UK, making sure jobs are allocated efficiently and completed on time.
The Role
- Planning and coordinating sameday deliveries and collections
- Allocating jobs to drivers and subcontractors
- Managing a fleet of vans and HGVs
- Monitoring vehicles and deliveries throughout the day
- Communicating with drivers and customers
- Dealing with urgent and time-critical transport requests
- Planning efficient routes to maximise vehicle utilisation
- Providing customers with delivery updates
- Managing transport documentation and PODs
- Handling any issues or delays quickly and professionally
- Liaising with the warehouse and customer service teams
- Ensuring all transport operations comply with company procedures and UK transport regulations
About You
- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics or a similar role
- Sameday or courier experience would be highly beneficial
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confident dealing with drivers, customers and subcontractors
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- Able to prioritise multiple jobs and changing requirements
- A positive, can-do attitude
