Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Cook meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to customers or staff
- Maintain stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Assist with inventory management and storage of ingredients and supplies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
