Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Front of House team member to join our friendly team at The Green Dragon, an independently owned premium pub with a strong reputation for outstanding food, drinks and service. This role involves delivering exceptional guest services, ensuring smooth operations at the front of house, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Key roles
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Handle payments using the POS system and provide correct change or receipts
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and service stations
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Provide knowledgeable information about menu options, ingredients, and food safety standards
- Address guest queries or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction
- Support team members in maintaining a positive working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with serving protocols and guest service excellence is desirable
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest experience is a plus
