Cleveland Timber Supplies Limited is a Timber & DIY retailer which has been established 50 years and is based in central Middlesbrough. As part of ongoing business development we are looking to recruit a general operative to work within our busy premises. The main focus of the role is to meet business and customer requirements whilst aligning to our company expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working within the warehouse & dealing with customers as and when required, to support the delivery of a high quality service.
Normal hours of the role are 8am to 5pm - 5 days a week. Rota of days to be confirmed. 6 days optional.
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Assisting in the day to day running of the business operations
- Dealing with customers and delivering good customer service
- Preparing and loading deliveries onto the vehicle
- Using the forklift (if licenced/trained)
- Serving customers in the warehouse & yard area
- Use initiative and proactively realise what is most important to do next
- Taking deliveries out on occasion.
The successful candidate will be:·
- Able to work in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks, issues and be able to organise
- Reasonable Maths & English skills
- Be of tidy appearance and be comfortable dealing with the public
- Excellent timekeeping skills - reliabilty is key
- Have a strong work ethic
- A positive can-do attitude, reliable, trustworthy, fast thinking, intelligent and a problem solver·
- Have an basic understanding of measurements
