We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technicians to serve as a technical resource within our mission critical Data Center in West of London to join our client expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Engineering Operations Technician is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. Key job responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
- Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
- Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
- On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls
- Work at heights and from ladders; in a noisy environment with ear protection
- Perform physical tasks during the shift
Basic qualifications
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory; generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls; backup generator systems
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in data center engineering
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: £53,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
