Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible School Door Warden to oversee the safety and security of students and staff during school arrival and departure times. The ideal candidate will be tasked with monitoring access points, ensuring a secure environment, and providing assistance where necessary. This role is essential in maintaining a safe school environment through proactive surveillance and loss prevention measures. The position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the school community by promoting safety and orderliness.
Duties
- Monitor entry and exit points of the school premises to ensure only authorised individuals gain access. Fire doors to be checked on an ongoing basis.
- Enforce loss prevention policies by identifying suspicious behaviour and preventing unauthorised access or theft.
- Assist with managing student queues during arrival and dismissal, ensuring orderly conduct.
- Provide first aid assistance in case of minor injuries or emergencies until professional help arrives.
- Record incidents or unusual activity in accordance with school procedures for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with school staff to uphold safety protocols and respond swiftly to any security concerns.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate behaviour and promote a secure environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in surveillance, security, or loss prevention is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of basic first aid procedures is advantageous.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise potential safety risks or suspicious activity.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with students, staff, and visitors.
- Organised, vigilant, and able to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations.
- A responsible attitude towards safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for all school occupants.
Start Date:
- 27-28/08/26 - Online Training
- Official Start Date: 01/09/26 INSET Day
- Hours: Monday to Thursday: 09.30-15.00 and Friday: 09.30-13.00
- Start from September till December. Potentially continous throughout the academic year.
