We are recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school supporting both primary and secondary-aged students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism (ASD), and ADHD.
This is a highly rewarding role where you'll play a vital part in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Provide consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day
- Help manage challenging behaviour using a calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to create a positive learning environment
- Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or vulnerable adults is essential
- Alternatively, transferable skills from care, support work, youth work, mental health, or similar settings, alongside a good understanding of SEND
- Resilient, confident, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- A nurturing and compassionate approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the individual needs of each student
