As demand continues to grow, we are seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to expand our customer base and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional with a strong understanding of electromechanical products and a passion for working closely with customers to win new business.
You will manage enquiries, build customer relationships, prepare quotations, and support customers in specifying the right solutions for their applications. Working closely with our engineering team, you will ensure customer requirements are translated into practical, commercially viable solutions.
The role offers significant autonomy, combining home-based working with UK-wide travel. You will typically spend around one day per week either visiting customers across the UK or working remotely from home, with additional flexibility depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry partners
- Understand customer applications and recommend suitable lifting and handling solutions
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical submissions
- Manage sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to order placement
- Represent Torros at customer sites, exhibitions, and industry events
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records
- Contribute to the ongoing sales and marketing strategy
About You
You will bring:
- A proven track record in technical or engineering sales
- Experience selling electromechanical, industrial, automation, materials handling, machinery, or related products
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Lifting equipment or material handling systems
- Automation systems or battery-powered equipment
- Industrial controls, PLCs, sensors, or motion systems
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
