Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full Time

We are recruiting a full-time Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant for a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hackney from September. This is a long-term opportunity for the full academic year and would suit someone who enjoys supporting children across a range of year groups while working as part of a collaborative staff team.
The school provides a stimulating learning environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent learners through high-quality teaching, creativity and positive relationships. Staff are committed to ensuring every pupil feels valued, supported and able to achieve their best.
Alongside classroom responsibilities, this role includes supporting the school's dedicated bus service. The successful candidate will begin and end each day at the school's catchment area, working alongside other Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils travel safely to and from school.
The Role - Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Support teaching and learning across the primary phase
- Deliver interventions for individuals and small groups, including pupils with SEN
- Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
- Encourage pupil engagement and independence
- Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Assist with the school's morning and afternoon transport service
The Ideal Candidate - Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Previous experience working within a primary school, ideally with children with SEN
- Strong academic background
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, flexible and proactive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
