Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including supported living, community, and respite environments. Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Provide specialised support for individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, ADHD, Challenging Behaviours and Mobility Issues
- Support with medication administration in accordance with healthcare plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning as required
- Engage individuals in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate strategies and patience
- Support individuals to appointments or social activities when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in supported living, nursing home care, or home care environments
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviours
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for individual support or mobility aids
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy and patience
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties if necessary
- Competence in basic first aid and emergency response procedures
- Ability to handle behavioural challenges with sensitivity and professionalism
- Organisation skills for managing multiple individuals’ needs efficiently
