Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and providing excellent patient care. Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with doctor’s instructions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and patient safety
- Prepare and label prescriptions, maintaining meticulous records of all transactions
- Provide guidance and support to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain stock levels, check expiry dates, and organise storage areas to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, inventory management, and processing prescriptions
- Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all legal and safety standards related to medication handling
Skills
- Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with dispensing procedures and pharmacy software
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors in medication dispensing
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care practices
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development within the pharmacy setting
- Previous experience in dealing with private prescriptions and Pro Script essential
