Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet the required safety and environmental standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our services and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections, identifying any defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety.
- Utilise both power tools and hand tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and any recommendations made to customers.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding test results, repairs needed, and any relevant advice on vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure that the testing area is kept clean and organised at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Stay updated with changes in MOT testing regulations and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications for MOT testing are preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
