We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as an Intensive Housing Support Officer to provide intensive wrap-around support to individuals who will thrive and succeed with the appropriate assistance and ultimately end a long term cycle of homelessness.
About the role
As an Intensive Housing Support Officer you will provide intensive support and housing management to vulnerable clients helping them establish and settle into new move-on accommodation. Working as part of a small team you will develop living skills, provide appropriate housing management services, liaise with colleagues, contractors and external agencies and reduce the fear of repeat homelessness.
You will lead your own caseload of clients and help create new housing opportunities for service users as part of the move-on process. Using housing management skills you will assist with sign-ups for tenants, complete property inspections, manage rent collection and resolve property maintenance issues working with our key partner agencies and have a varied daily workload. Every day and household is different bringing unique challenges, testing your abilities and ensuring solutions are provided to problems.
About you
To succeed you’ll need:
- To establish appropriate wrap around support and intervention for clients with complex needs moving into newly formed tenancies with the aim of developing appropriate independent living skills.
- To liaise with colleagues in housing to provide a holistic service covering support and housing management.
- To develop and deliver appropriate move-on plans for clients to create longer term independent living opportunities at the end of the support period.
- Knowledge and understanding of how the law and legislation relates to the Private Rented Sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefit system.
- Full driving licence with access to own car for daily work.
