Project Manager
Location: Southampton (with UK travel to customer sites)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + Car Allowance
Reporting To: Projects & Engineering Manager #INDHP
Overview
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their growing engineering team.
This role will take ownership of multiple engineering projects from concept through to completion, managing all aspects including design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning and project handover.
Working with industrial process equipment and bespoke engineering systems, you'll be the key point of contact for customers whilst ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple engineering projects ranging from £10k to £1m+
- Take full ownership of projects from cradle to grave
- Act as the main customer contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Produce and manage project programmes
- Create detailed RAMS for all projects
- Monitor project costs and manage budgets
- Control project scope and manage variations
- Carry out site surveys and produce layout drawings using AutoCAD LT
- Attend customer sites for surveys, meetings, progress reviews and snagging
- Interpret layout drawings, P&IDs and wiring diagrams
- Coordinate internal engineering teams and external suppliers
- Produce technical documentation for installation and commissioning
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
- Provide technical support to the sales team when required
- Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and project delivery processes
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
Essential
- Proven Project Management experience within an engineering environment
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial awareness and budget management
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to read engineering drawings including:
- P&IDs
- Wiring diagrams
- Layout drawings
- Experience creating RAMS
- Good Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Project
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Engineering Degree (BEng or equivalent)
- AutoCAD LT experience
- Understanding of cGMP
- Experience within Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Food & Beverage or Process Engineering
- Experience managing onsite engineering installations

Experience:
- PM in Mechanical / Process Engineering: 3 years (required)
- interpret P&IDs, layout drawings and wiring diagrams: 3 years (required)
