Join a Growing and Supportive Accountancy Practice
We are seeking two proactive and ambitious Accounts professionals to join our expanding team in Ingatestone in an Accounts Senior and an Accounts Semi-Senior role. These roles offer exposure to a varied client portfolio and the opportunity to build on your technical accounting knowledge within a professional, supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Role Overview
- Accounts Senior: suitable for an experienced practice accountant who can prepare annual statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for small and medium sized companies and LLPs, prepare management accounts for SMEs, and support audit assignments.
- Accounts Semi-Senior: suitable for a developing practice accountant looking to broaden their accounts, VAT, P11D, management accounts and audit experience while working closely with experienced senior team members.
- The roles will involve a mix of client premises, office and, where appropriate, home-based assignments. A small amount of stay-away work may be required due to client locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for small companies, medium sized companies and LLPs, according to role and experience.
- Preparation of management accounts for SMEs, mostly monthly or quarterly, with most management accounts produced on Excel.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Annual P11D preparation for client employees and directors.
- Annual statutory audits, including stock take attendances.
- Working with client records held on Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and bespoke industry software.
- Managing work across visits to clients’ premises, office assignments and, where appropriate, home assignments.
- Maintaining a professional approach to client relationships and internal team working.
Audit Training
Training will be given for those with little prior experience of annual statutory audits.
Software
- The in-house system for accounts and tax return preparation is CCH.
- Client records are mostly held on Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and bespoke industry software.
- Most management accounts are produced on Excel.
- The audit/accounts working programme and file system is MyWorkPapers.
About You

Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, Xero or similar.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships.
Qualifications

- AAT qualified or currently studying
- ACA or ACCA trainee or part-qualified
