The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Hygiene Supervisor to join our Leeds site. Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will take ownership of daily site hygiene operations, ensuring cleaning and waste management activities meet required standards across offices, laboratories, and production environments.
You will lead a small team of hygiene operatives, providing hands-on support and ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained working environment that supports business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support hygiene operatives, managing workloads and maintaining high site standards
- Coordinate cleaning and waste disposal across all areas including offices, labs, production spaces and external areas
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with SOPs, quality standards, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate cleaning and compliance records
- Support and manage the site workwear and laundry service
- Complete Legionella water run-offs and associated documentation
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies
- Raise and escalate equipment or facility issues promptly
- Support site activities including meeting room setups and general housekeeping
- Uphold strong Health & Safety standards at all times
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, hands-on, and capable of leading by example in a hygiene-critical environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organisational skills with a structured and methodical approach
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident leading and motivating a small team
- High attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards
- Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset
- IT literate with basic MS Office and Teams knowledge
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role
- GCSE (or equivalent) level qualifications
- Experience using cleaning equipment (e.g. buffing/scrubbing machines) preferred
- Awareness of Health & Safety legislation and chemical risks
- Physical capability for a hands-on role
