Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join our team. This role involves the fabrication and assembly of high-quality cabinetry for residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, joinery, and the use of various hand and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship and custom woodwork to contribute to bespoke projects while developing their skills further. Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom cabinets and furniture according to detailed specifications and drawings
- Assemble components with precision, ensuring quality standards are met
- Operate hand tools such as chisels, saws, drills, and screwdrivers safely and effectively
- Utilise power tools including routers, sanders, and drills for cutting, shaping, and finishing woodwork
- Measure accurately using tapes, squares, and other measuring devices to ensure precise fitting
- Perform joinery tasks including dovetailing, mortising, and dowelling to create durable joints
- Assist with site preparation, including surface finishing such as sanding and sealing
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure specifications are met within deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, and joinery techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of construction materials including wood, MDF, plywood, and laminates
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Experience with roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work is advantageous but not essential
- Capable of heavy lifting when required for transporting materials or assembled units
- Knowledge of construction painting is beneficial for finishing tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
This role is ideal for dedicated craftsmen eager to produce high-quality cabinetry in a small workshop. Happy working alone and experienced enough to see a project through from start to finish with little supervision.
Pay: Up to £150.00 per day
