Overview
About the Role
Reporting to the Yard & Staging Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring equipment is accurately prepared, safely handled and ready to go out to events.
You’ll work closely with our warehouse team, drivers, customers and other departments to make sure equipment is dispatched and returned efficiently and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customer and event orders accurately using job sheets and schedules.
- Check equipment in and out of the yard using barcode scanning software and manual stock checks.
- Identify and report missing, damaged or faulty equipment.
- Load and unload IPS and customer vehicles safely and efficiently, both manually and using a forklift.
- Organise, inspect and maintain staging, scaffolding and other event equipment.
- Identify damaged or faulty equipment during the return process and log items for repair.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable and safely stored.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard, staging and working environment.
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse colleagues and other teams to ensure equipment is dispatched and returned on time.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Take part in training and development opportunities to build your knowledge and skills.
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, practical and proactive, with a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
You will ideally have:
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, polite and friendly approach when dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Good time management and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Basic maths and computer skills.
- A good understanding of health & safety and safe manual handling practices.
- Flexibility to work early starts, late finishes and occasional weekends when required.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience in staging, scaffolding, events, warehouse operations or technical event equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
A forklift licence would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Most importantly, you'll need the enthusiasm and attitude to learn and develop within a fast-paced and exciting industry.
The Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role and involves regular manual handling, including bending, lifting, pulling and pushing equipment.
You'll need to be comfortable working in a physical environment and following safe manual handling procedures.
