We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join our team. The position is for 20.5 hours per week worked across 4 days with 2 morning shifts and 2 afternoon shifts. These shifts will vary on a rota basis and travel across our three sites will be required for this role.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients so we require friendly, caring and professional individuals. The Receptionist will provide a comprehensive clerical support service to the administration and clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and making a positive difference to the patient experience. Previous experience of working in a GP Practice is desirable but not essential.
Langton Medical Group is a friendly, forward thinking training practice consisting of 2 GP partners who are supported by a strong team of salaried GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and an excellent admin and reception team serving a patient population of approximately 13,500 across three sites: Lichfield, Whittington, and Burntwood. This is a busy and demanding role, so applicants should have the ability to multi task with excellent time management skills and a calm demeanor.

Main duties of the job
- Answer all telephone calls promptly
- Book and manage patient appointments
- Liaising with patients, clinicians, staff and visitors in the surgery
- Record and maintain all patient details promptly and accurately
- Perform patient registration
- Contact patients to pass on messages
- Support the management and processing of simple prescription requests
- To chaperone patients when requested
- Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept tidy and clean at all times
- Provide a friendly and knowledgeable patient service to the highest standards
- Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic and paper records.
- Process patient referrals via the electronic referral system.
- Provide general administrative support to the practice including answering emails and data inputting
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
Essential Experience
- - Previous experience in a administrative role.
- - Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- - Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
- - Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting.
Desirable Experience
- -Experience of working in a GP Practice or Primary Care
- - Familiarity with clinical systems
