Job Summary
Isca Medical Centre is looking for a Salaried GP or GP Retainer to join our friendly, supportive and award-winning team in Caerleon.
We are a well-established practice with modern facilities, a strong administrative team and clear systems in place to support safe, effective working. We are looking for a GP who is clinically safe, compassionate, practical and able to work well as part of a wider team.
This role would suit a GP looking for a supportive environment with a fair division of work, a well-managed workload, low home visit volume and strong reception and admin support.
Main duties of the role
The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and patient-centred care to the practice population.
Main duties will include:
- Face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations
- Assessment and management of acute and long-term conditions
- Safe prescribing in line with local and national guidance
- Reviewing pathology results, clinical letters and discharge summaries
- Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services
- Supporting urgent and routine clinical care
- Completing clinical administration in a timely way
- Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web
- Supporting safeguarding processes for children and adults at risk
- Working with the wider clinical and non-clinical team
- Contributing to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement
- Undertaking home visits where clinically necessary
Experience
The role is suitable for a qualified GP with experience in UK general practice, or a GP Retainer looking for a supportive and well-managed practice environment.
The successful candidate should have:
- GMC registration and inclusion on the GP performers list
- Strong clinical judgement and safe prescribing practice
- Good communication skills with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work as part of a wider clinical and administrative team
- A practical, compassionate and patient-centred approach
- Good time management and ability to complete clinical admin safely
- Commitment to quality improvement, governance and safe patient care
