Job Purpose
The ESG Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the development, governance and delivery of the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance strategy, ensuring that regulatory obligations, sustainability commitments and responsible business standards are embedded across The Entertainer and, where relevant, group-level activity. The role provides strategic direction, executive-level assurance and clear governance over ESG compliance, environmental reporting and emerging regulatory requirements.
You are responsible for setting the ESG compliance roadmap, leading cross-functional delivery and advising senior leaders on legislative, regulatory and industry developments. You will establish priorities, governance forums, KPIs and reporting frameworks, ensuring the business has appropriate controls, resources and accountability to meet its ESG, environmental and responsible business commitments.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Project Management, Quality, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline, with evidence of operating at a senior level in ESG, sustainability or regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrable senior experience in ESG, sustainability, compliance, regulatory affairs, project management or a related role within consumer products, manufacturing or retail, with accountability for enterprise-level programmes, governance or regulatory reporting.
- Experience of leading ESG compliance strategy, developing governance frameworks and delivering complex cross-functional change initiatives.
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive sponsors, functional leaders, external partners and specialist advisers.
- In-depth and current knowledge of sustainability issues, ESG frameworks, environmental reporting obligations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the ESG compliance programme, ensuring delivery is aligned to business strategy, regulatory obligations and wider sustainability priorities.
- Develop, own and govern the ESG compliance roadmap, agreeing priorities, milestones, KPIs and reporting requirements with senior leadership and the Executive ESG Sponsor.
- Chair and lead cross-functional ESG compliance working groups, ensuring clear accountability, timely delivery of actions and effective escalation of risks, issues and dependencies.
- Establish robust ESG data, validation and assurance processes for internal, external and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of material ESG compliance risks, advising senior stakeholders on business impact and required actions.
- Lead horizon scanning for legislative, regulatory and industry change, translating developments into business priorities, policy requirements and implementation plans.
- Assess the strategic, operational and commercial impact of regulatory change and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
