Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional 3.5T Delivery & Install Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting Home Appliances (Televisions, Washing Machines, Microwaves, Dishwashers, American Fridge Freezers etc ) efficiently and safely to various locations throughout the UK, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s licence and have experience in commercial driving environments.
Duties
- Safely operate company 3.5 T Vans adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with attention to proper handling techniques
- Follow planned delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all necessary documentation
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Ensure the security of goods during transit and upon delivery at designated locations
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role
- A full UK/EA driver’s licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, demonstrating physical fitness for the role
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Familiarity with route planning software or GPS systems is desirable
