Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Chef to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Lead Chef, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained
- Manage food production schedules to meet service times and minimise waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining operational feasibility
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health regulations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
- Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and serving procedures is advantageous
