About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Night Manager to join our busy transport and logistics operation.
Working nights, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the warehouse, ensuring parcels and pallets are sorted, loaded and dispatched correctly and on time. You will lead the night warehouse team and work closely with drivers and the transport operation to make sure everything is ready for the next day's deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the night warehouse team.
- Oversee the loading, unloading and sorting of parcels and pallets.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded safely, securely and in the correct delivery order.
- Coordinate with the transport team regarding vehicle loading and departure times.
- Ensure all freight is handled correctly and efficiently.
- Allocate work to warehouse staff and manage workload throughout the night.
- Check freight for damage, shortages and mis-sorts and resolve issues where possible.
- Ensure warehouse health & safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Monitor staff performance and provide support and guidance where required.
- Deal with any operational issues that arise during the night.
- Complete relevant paperwork and system updates.
- Ensure the warehouse is ready for the morning operation.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a warehouse or transport environment, ideally at supervisor or management level.
- Has experience handling parcels, pallets or general freight.
- Is confident managing and motivating a team.
- Can work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Has good organisational and communication skills.
- Has a strong eye for detail and understands the importance of accurate sorting and loading.
- Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic.
- Is comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a hands-on approach and is prepared to get involved when required.
