Overview
NMH Ferdinand Collective, founded by Anton and Rio Ferdinand, is one of the fastest growing youth football organisations in the region. Our aim is to provide young players with the very best football experience while creating clear pathways for long term development.
We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic and passionate coaches to join our Foundation Phase programme working with players aged U5 to U7.
This role is perfect for coaches who enjoy working with young children and understand that the early years are about building confidence, developing technical ability and creating a lifelong love of football.
Sessions are centred around ball mastery, technical development, movement, coordination and creativity through fun, engaging practices. We are also passionate about incorporating futsal into our coaching philosophy to help players become more confident, creative and comfortable in possession.
Whether you are an experienced coach or looking to develop your coaching journey, we provide ongoing support and a structured curriculum to help you deliver sessions in line with the NMH Ferdinand Collective philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver fun, engaging and age appropriate coaching sessions for players aged U5 to U7.
Develop players through activities focusing on:
Ball mastery
Dribbling
Passing and receiving
Turning
First touch
Coordination
Movement
Balance
Confidence using both feet
One versus one attacking and defending
Use fun games and challenges to maximise touches on the ball while creating an enjoyable learning environment.
Deliver futsal inspired coaching practices that encourage creativity, quick decision making and excellent technical ability.
Create a positive, safe and inclusive environment where every child feels supported and encouraged.
Build confidence in every player while developing a genuine passion for football.
Communicate professionally with parents, coaches and club management.
Support player assessments and progression throughout the NMH Ferdinand Collective pathway.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and professionalism at all times.
Represent NMH Ferdinand Collective in a positive and professional manner.
Coaching Support
All coaches will receive access to the NMH Ferdinand Collective coaching curriculum which provides a clear guide to delivering sessions using the Ferdinand Way.
Our curriculum has been designed to support coaches by providing structured session themes, technical practices, ball mastery exercises and futsal inspired activities whilst still allowing coaches the freedom to bring their own personality, creativity and coaching style to every session.
You will also receive ongoing mentoring and support from experienced coaches as you continue to develop within the programme.
Requirements
Experience coaching children within football, futsal or grassroots sport is desirable.
A passion for developing young players.
The ability to deliver fun, energetic and engaging sessions.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A positive attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate young children.
Availability on Monday evenings, Tuesday evenings or both.
FA coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. Coaches with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
A good understanding of safeguarding and child centred coaching.
An enhanced DBS check and safeguarding qualifications will be required.
