Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting pharmacy operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role requires experience in dealing with dosette boxes (Blister Packs).
Duties
- Prepare and dispense blister packs accurately according to prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Assist with medication intake processes, including verifying patient information and medication orders.
- Support patient care by providing medication information and answering questions related to prescriptions.
- Ensure proper documentation of medication dispensing activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication administration and patient safety.
- Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of medications.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a counter assistant or pharmacy dispenser
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medications used in community pharmacy.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations related to intake processes and medication safety protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience within a community pharmacy setting.
- Previous experience with the Proscript PMR system.
