Job Title: Deputy/Branch Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy/Branch Manager to join our team. The Manager will work closely with the Lead Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the provision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education, care, and support to children with SEND. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.
Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Manager in the overall management and leadership, including staff supervision, program development, budget management, and regulatory compliance. Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff, ensuring that all team members are well-trained, motivated, and supported to provide the best possible care and support to children with SEND. Collaborate with the Lead Manager and other members of the leadership team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the provision. Provide hands-on support and guidance to staff in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of individualised education, therapy, and support programs for children with SEND, ensuring that their diverse needs are met, and their progress is monitored and evaluated regularly. Work closely with parents, carers, external agencies, and other stakeholders to build positive relationships, promote effective communication, and ensure the holistic well-being and development of children with SEND. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and reviews to contribute to the planning and coordination of integrated support services for children with complex needs.
Ensure that the provision maintains high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding, and that all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met or exceeded. Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and developments in SEND education and support services, and contribute to the continuous improvement and enhancement of the provision. Support the Lead Manager in the preparation of reports, evaluations, and other documentation required for internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies, regulatory authorities, and inspection agencies.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education, Education Leadership, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or relevant professional qualification in SEND education or leadership (e.g., NPQSL, SENCo qualification). Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a SEND educational setting, with a strong track record of effectively supporting children with SEND, managing staff teams, and achieving positive outcomes. Experience working with the Leeds City Council SEND Team is essential for this role. Comprehensive knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices, as well as an understanding of the principles of person-centred planning, inclusive education, and social-emotional development. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, lead and motivate teams, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, and resilience in managing complex situations and challenges in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
