Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. We are a North East based mechanical installation contractor, specialising in process pipework. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems in accordance with specifications and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret schematics.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install piping systems according to drawings and schematics.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, threading, bending, and welding pipes.
- Plumb pipes accurately to ensure proper flow and drainage.
- Conduct routine inspections of piping systems for leaks or malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and schematics.
- On-site installation experience
- Experience with different types of pipe systems such as screwed, grooved, plastic, press-fit and welded.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fittings.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
