Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Pallet Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining high standards of professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving, particularly those familiar with curtain side operations and palletised deliveries. A valid HGV Class 2 licence is essential, along with a commitment to safety and punctuality.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a curtain side lorry to deliver pallets across designated routes in a timely manner
- Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques, ensuring the security of cargo during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with palletised freight or curtain side operations
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards in the UK
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles confidently
- Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks associated with loading and unloading pallets
