Zest Education is proud to be supporting a brand-new SEN school opening in September/October 2026. The school will provide high-quality education and therapeutic support for pupils with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Associated learning and communication difficulties
As part of their founding team, we are seeking enthusiastic and committed teachers who are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
The Role
You will teach small classes of pupils with complex and severe autism, adapting learning to meet individual needs and creating a structured, engaging and positive learning environment.
Working alongside support staff, therapists and senior leaders, you will play a key role in shaping the culture, curriculum and success of this new provision.
We welcome applications from:
- Primary-trained teachers
- Secondary-trained teachers looking to transition into SEN
- Qualified SEN teachers
- Teachers with experience in specialist provisions, alternative provisions or SEND settings
- ECTs with relevant SEND experience may also be considered
Essential Requirements
- A passion for supporting pupils with ASC and SEMH needs
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- A flexible and creative approach to teaching
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Desirable Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferable
- Teaching pupils with severe ASC
- Experience of sensory-based and communication-focused approaches
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support strategies
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning programmes
- Experience working within specialist or therapeutic education settings
