Care Service Manager – Help Us Raise the Bar in Home Care
£35,000–£38,000 + up to £5,000 performance bonus
Melton, Woodbridge | Full-time | 40 hours per week
Great care doesn't happen by accident. It takes great leadership.
Sarah’s Carers is looking for an experienced Care Service Manager who wants more than simply keeping a service running.
We want someone who is committed to making it better.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with real influence over the quality and future development of our service. You'll work closely with our Registered Manager, lead and develop key members of the care team, strengthen quality and help us continually improve the experience of our clients and their families.
You'll have the autonomy to make improvements, develop people and help shape how our service evolves as we grow.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take a lead role across care quality, people leadership and service improvement, including:
- Completing new client assessments and ensuring excellent person-centred care plans are in place from day one
- Leading complex reassessments and responding when clients' needs or risks change
- Line-managing and developing our Care Coordinators, Community Supervisors and Live-in Care Coordinator
- Coaching colleagues and helping them develop their confidence and capability
- Leading quality reviews and audits across the service
- Taking ownership of complaints and ensuring they result in learning and improvement
- Overseeing safeguarding, incidents and regulatory actions
- Making sure our care plans, risk assessments and records meet the standards we expect
- Building strong relationships with clients, families and healthcare professionals
- Looking across service information to spot patterns, emerging risks and opportunities to improve
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day behind a desk.
You could start your morning by completing an assessment for a new client, spend time coaching a colleague, review a complex care situation, speak with a family or healthcare professional, and finish the day by identifying an improvement that could make our service better.
Who We're Looking For
You'll already have strong experience in regulated adult social care and understand what excellent person-centred care looks like.
You'll be confident:
- Completing assessments, care plans and risk assessments
- Managing complex or changing care situations
- Leading and developing people
- Making well-reasoned decisions when priorities compete
- Handling safeguarding concerns, complaints and quality issues
- Communicating with clients, families and professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and clear evidence of decisions and outcomes
We're particularly interested in people who are curious, thoughtful and improvement-focused.
We don't want someone who simply accepts "that's how we've always done it."
We want a leader who asks questions, looks at the evidence, spots when something isn't right and works with the team to make it better.
A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent, would be desirable, as would management experience in domiciliary, home care, or community services.
You'll need a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and the flexibility to participate in our on-call rota, including weekends.
Why Sarah's Carers?
We're a local care provider with big ambitions for the quality of care we provide.
We want to build a service where exceptional care is supported by strong leadership, confident colleagues, good evidence and a culture of continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity to have real influence.
You'll work closely with our Registered Manager and have the freedom to improve how things are done, develop the people around you and directly influence the experience of our clients and their families.
