Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Children’s Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of a specialised care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and development of children in our care, whilst maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role offers an opportunity to lead a compassionate team within a nurturing environment, making a positive impact on young lives. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home care is highly desirable, particularly with children requiring specialised support such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care. The manager will be instrumental in developing personalised care plans and supervising staff to deliver high standards of care.
Duties
- Lead and manage the residential children’s home, ensuring all activities comply with legal and organisational policies.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Supervise and support staff members, fostering a positive team environment centred on professional development and best practices.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed instructions.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, ensuring it meets regulatory standards and organisational objectives.
- Maintain detailed records of children's progress, incidents, and care interventions.
- Liaise with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive support for each child.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times by conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits.
- Promote a nurturing environment that encourages personal development, independence, and emotional resilience.
About the Role:
You will manage 2 Solo home, you can bring your own team or help hire a team to work with you. You will care for young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties using Therapeutic approaches such as PACE. Your role is to lead by example, setting high standards for both staff and young people, with the opportunity to shape and model your homes.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone who
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
- At least 2 years in a role supervising and managing staff.
- Has their NVQ Level 3 In Children and Young People's Workforce.
- Has their Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or working towards this.
- Caring and open-minded nature, willing to work on-call.
- Understanding that the role sometimes extends beyond a 9-5 schedule.
- Experience with EBD and challenging behaviours
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a residentail care home or similar setting specialising in children
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively whilst maintaining high standards of care.
- Experience with care planning, medication administration, and implementing personalised support strategies.
- Knowledge of assisted living environments, nursing home operations, or home care services is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Compassionate approach coupled with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Relevant qualifications in nursing, social work, or childcare are preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Pay: £32,000.00-£64,000.00 per year
