Adara Group is a successful family-owned business based in Northampton with interests in residential care, supported living, property and specialist healthcare services.
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly Head Office finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with accounts, takes pride in producing accurate work and is looking to build a long-term career within a growing organisation.
Working closely with our Finance Director and experienced finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities across several businesses. The role offers genuine variety, increasing responsibility and the opportunity to develop your skills over time.
Main Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
- Preparing customer and resident invoices
- Posting customer receipts and maintaining debtor records
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit card and petty cash reconciliations
- Processing staff expense claims
- Assisting with month-end accounting procedures
- Responding to finance queries from colleagues and suppliers
- Supporting the Finance Director and wider finance team with accounting and administrative tasks
- Assisting with projects and process improvements as the business continues to grow
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience working in an accounts or finance role
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience using Sage is essential
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and pride in producing accurate work
- High levels of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information
