Demeter Limited was formed in early 2008 and helps customers in the public and private sector to save water and save money. While we help customers save costs, we are also an environmental company. To date we have saved our clients millions of pounds from reducing their water use with environmental and carbon impact benefits. We work on a nationwide basis with a wide range of well-known customers.
In addition to our core service of monitoring water consumption remotely, we provide a range of services to customers; water efficiency surveys, bill validation, leak detection and repairs.
We are small, friendly, busy company, with 27 employees. We are looking for a conscientious, enthusiastic, organised and independent-thinking person to help in the further development and growth of the company.
Job Overview
We're looking for a highly organised individual who is comfortable working across a variety of responsibilities and can effectively manage competing priorities. You will have experience of finance administration, or accounts processes, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as you'll be building positive relationships with customers, responding to enquiries and supporting them in getting the most value from our services. You should be confident using Microsoft Office applications and be comfortable working with financial systems such as Xero.
Experience in account management, customer support, business administration or a similar role would be advantageous, but just as important is a proactive approach, a willingness to learn and the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and is looking for a position that combines customer service, account management, operational support and finance administration within a growing and collaborative business.
This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week Monday to Friday, with flexibility around how these hours are worked to support both business needs and work-life balance. There may be future scope to increase hours based on business performance.
The role is an office based role at our head office and responsibilities include:
· Manage customer accounts, responding to enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
· Prepare and process quotes, invoices, purchase bills, journals and other financial records.
· Support month-end processes, reconciliations and the accuracy of company accounts.
· Chase outstanding quotes and invoice payments to support healthy cash flow.
· Monitor customer utility profiles, investigate anomalies, and communicate findings to customers.
· Produce and distribute reports, alerts and service updates.
· Prepare and submit applications to water wholesalers and retailers for new installations and account changes, acting as the main point of contact throughout the process.
