Bayleaf care is expanding by opening 2 new children’s homes in September. A combination of needing staff for our new home, internal promotions and internal transfers, it has created several vacancies across the group.
Waking night Support Worker
We are looking for 2 full-time, permanent waking night support workers for Bayleaf’s newest 2-bedded children’s home in Littleover, near Derby, that looks after young people with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour.
The salary is £17.00 per hour with the option of overtime in the other children’s homes.
About the home:
The Pastures is situated in the heart of a beautiful village of Littleover which is in the suburbs of Derby, and although it is only 2-3 miles from Derby it still retains that village feel with local pubs and shops.
There is something special about The Pastures, our home isn't just a workplace—it’s a sanctuary. We have developed this spacious, high-standard bungalow specifically to provide young people with a sense of belonging and peace.
We operate entirely on the ground floor with a large, beautiful garden, our environment is open, airy, and truly a "home from home."
About Bayleaf Care
Bayleaf Care provides exceptional care for children and young people across the UK, especially those who have faced trauma. We use the PACE model, which creates a safe, caring environment to help children feel secure and build positive relationships.
Our approach starts with the key worker, who forms a strong, trusting bond with the child. This relationship is essential for the child’s development and continues throughout their care.
We offer personalized care, education, and treatment led by a team of trained professionals, helping children manage their emotions and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.
There are currently 6 children’s homes open, 2 of these homes have their own school onsite. Bayleaf is expanding with more children’s homes on the horizon and in 2026 we are also opening 2 special schools, 2 leaving care homes and 3 CQC registered adult homes so are all our young people can remain in our care by transitioning into these services.
Each children’s home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.
Job overview:
We provide 24-hour care and support to the young people in our care. The main duties are to assist in the provision of a safe and homely environment during the night, both individually and as part of a team. To help and support during the night to build relationships and provide a sense of stability for children residing within the home.
A caring and supportive attitude is essential for this role, and we welcome people that have experience with either adults or children with autism and associated behaviours that challenge.
The salary is £17 per hour.
This a full-time role 160 hours per month.
Total salary is £32,640 plus the opportunity to do overtime at any of the 6 other children’s homes.
The shift pattern is 3 days on 3 days off and shifts start at 10.00pm and finish 8am.
There is a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, fantastic career prospects as the company grows and you will be enrolled on the Level 3 diploma for residential childcare.
