ASSISTANT CAFÉ MANAGER
We’re looking for a warm, capable and enthusiastic Assistant Café Manager to join our team and help us deliver the experience that makes More? special.
This is a hands-on, varied role for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, takes pride in what they do and leads by example. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, helping to create a café environment for both staff and customers that is calm, welcoming, fun and exceptionally well run.
At More? we champion Cumbrian produce, exceptional ingredients and thoughtful preparation, with a totally taste-driven approach to everything we do. We’re looking for someone who shares that passion and understands that great hospitality is about much more than simply serving food and drink — it’s about creating an experience that people want to come back for.
THE ROLE
Working closely with our Café Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading and supporting our front-of-house team, ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every customer receives warm, attentive and thoughtful service.
You’ll need excellent barista skills, with a genuine knowledge and enthusiasm for speciality coffee, alongside an appreciation for fresh, seasonal and beautifully prepared food.
We are a dynamic and motivated team and you’ll be expected to confidently support the kitchen team when needed, helping with the preparation and service of our brunch-style menu on occasion. You don’t need to be a professionally trained chef — we have an experienced kitchen team around you will offer great training and support — but you do need practical kitchen confidence, a willingness to learn and a genuine love of good food.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, is comfortable taking responsibility and has the confidence to step up and make things happen.

- Helping train and develop colleagues across front-of-house and kitchen tasks
- Sharing ideas and contributing to strategies that improve our menu, service, efficiency and customer experience
- Taking responsibility for the café and supporting the team when the Café Manager is away
- Leading by example and helping to maintain a positive, respectful and enjoyable working environment
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll be someone who:
- Has previous experience in a supervisory, senior hospitality or café role

- Enjoys developing and supporting other people
- Is naturally warm, approachable and able to build great relationships with customers and colleagues
- Brings energy, curiosity and a willingness to learn
- Must be able to work weekend, school holidays and bank holidays
