Duties will vary but an average working week will include you:
- Participating in 7-day rota with early and late finishes
- Working a shift pattern and providing an overnight presence
- Undertaking personal care tasks, supporting people to manage in their own homes, supporting people with their medication and maintaining social care records.
We need you to:
Carry out a variety of support tasks and be active in your role; on a typical day you might find yourself providing personal care in the morning and taking someone cycling / swimming in the afternoon or to an event in the evenings. The people we support in Wigan have active lives within their community and we expect our staff to support this to continue.
- Work from a variety of locations to meet service need as required.
- Be flexible, and confident interacting with people from all walks of life.

- Build rapport quickly and work with a wide range of support needs.
About the role:
As part of a team, you will be supporting people with a wide range of care and support needs including individuals with a learning disability, autistic spectrum condition, and Mental Health diagnoses. Some individuals also have significant physical health and personal care needs.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you will work on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.
Experience and skills required:
- Must have experience supporting adults within a social care setting. Experience of supporting individuals with complex needs would be preferred.
- Ability to develop supportive relationships, promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Ability to use a computer and be IT literate.
- You will be highly motivated to deliver outstanding care and support.
- Have the ability to work in in a person-centred way.
