What you'll be doing
As part of our kitchen team, you'll support the preparation and service of high-quality dishes while learning from experienced chefs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with food preparation, including chopping, marinating and organising ingredients.
- Preparing and cooking dishes following recipes and quality standards.
- Maintaining your kitchen section and ensuring it's fully stocked for service.
- Supporting the team during busy service periods.
- Following food hygiene, food safety and health & safety procedures.
- Keeping workstations clean and organised.
- Learning new techniques and developing your culinary skills every day.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
- Has some previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment.
- Has a genuine passion for food and cooking.
- Enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Is reliable, organised and eager to learn.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and takes pride in their work.
- Understands the importance of food hygiene and attention to detail.

Hours
- Full-time position (approximately 35–40 hours per week).
- Rotating weekly rota.
- Evening and weekend shifts.
- Based at our York city centre restaurant.
Salary
£12.71–£13.50 per hour, depending on age, experience and skills.
