Tutor Doctor – Newcastle upon Tyne
Tutor Doctor are looking for passionate qualified tutors to deliver 1-to-1 Maths and English tuition to students across a range of ages (up to Y11) and abilities (Functional Skills or GCSE).
This role focuses on personalised learning, assessing current strengths and weaknesses to be able to fill gaps in learning and helping students build confidence while improving their academic progress.

Role Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and/or English
- Support students with SEN needs and varied learning abilities
- Build strong relationships to support confidence and engagement
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons based on student needs
- Provide feedback on student progress when required
Most tuition is around GCSE and Functional Skills level, although we support students across different age groups.
Sessions are delivered in person at:
- Schools
- Family Hubs
- Public libraries
- Students’ homes
Who This Role Is Ideal For
This position is ideal for experienced and qualified tutors and teachers who enjoy working one-to-one with students, particularly those who:
- Have experience working in schools or with SEN learners
- Prefer individual tutoring over classroom teaching
- Are looking for flexible or part-time work
- Want to focus on supporting individual student progress
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Daytime availability during school hours
- Experience teaching Maths and/or English
- Experience supporting SEN students (preferred)
Pay: £24.00-£27.00 per hour
