Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to customers’ homes and businesses across Bearsden and surrounding areas
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows
- Assist customers with their orders, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service during each interaction
- Conduct vehicle checks before and after shifts to maintain safety standards and report any issues promptly
- Handle heavy lifting of packages and goods, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent injury or damage
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status or delays
- Support warehouse operations by organizing stock, preparing parcels for dispatch, and assisting with inventory management when needed
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of local roads and navigation skills in Bearsden and nearby areas
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling safely
- Prior warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding logistics processes
- Reliable, punctual, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction
