Summary
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Warehouse Operative to join our team based in Belfast. This is a varied and hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our Belfast office and warehouse, ensuring the site is safe, well-maintained, fully stocked and operating efficiently.
The successful candidate will take ownership of all warehouse operations, stock control, engineer equipment management, fleet support and building standards, playing a key role in supporting our engineers and ensuring the smooth running of the Belfast operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the daily opening and securing (closing) of the Belfast office and warehouse.
- Ensure the office, warehouse and surrounding premises are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, organisation and safety.
- Manage all warehouse operations, including goods receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Maintain accurate stock levels through effective stock control, regular stock checks and inventory management.
- Order, receive, issue and manage stock, tools, equipment, PPE and materials required by field engineers.
- Operate and maintain warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Coordinate deliveries, collections and supplier shipments.
- Carry out quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods.
- Safely load and unload deliveries using appropriate manual handling techniques and mechanical handling equipment.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment where authorised.
- Support the management of the company vehicle fleet, including vehicle allocation, servicing, MOT scheduling, repairs, maintenance and cleanliness.
- Coordinate building maintenance, repairs and facilities management, liaising with contractors and suppliers where required.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Monitor warehouse consumables and office supplies, arranging replenishment as required.
- Support engineers and the wider operations team with day-to-day operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, organisation and operational processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse, stores or operational support is essential.
- Experience managing stock control and inventory systems.
- Forklift licence is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Physical ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
- Experience supporting fleet management or facilities maintenance would be advantageous.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
