Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ironer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all linens, uniforms, and fabrics are impeccably pressed and presented to meet our high standards of quality. The position is paid per item ironed (each item varies in price) and suitable for those seeking a reliable position in a company that has been established for over 15 years.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial ironing equipment safely and efficiently to produce crisp, wrinkle-free linens and garments
- Ensure all items are pressed to the required standards, paying close attention to fabric type and customer specifications
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the ironing area,
- Assist in sorting laundry items according to size, type, and priority before ironing
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly
- Work collaboratively with other housekeeping or laundry staff to meet daily production targets
Experience
- Previous experience in ironing is highly desirable not necessary as training will be given.
- Familiarity with industrial ironing machines and laundry processes is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to work efficiently under time constraints
- Attention to detail is essential to ensure high-quality results
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety.
