Job Overview
We are looking for experienced, reliable, hard‑working and customer‑focused self‑employed parcel delivery drivers to join our growing team. You will be responsible for collecting parcels from a local depot, planning your route, and delivering to customers efficiently and professionally.
2 years experience required in a similar position.
Paid training and support are provided.
Duties
- Safely operate company van, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres.
- Deliver to route and meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and update logs as required.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- The shift pattern is 5 days Monday to Saturday. You must be able to work one in every two Saturdays.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving or warehouse environments.
- A valid UK driving licence, with 6 points or less.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing schedules.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service in a professional setting.
