About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become an essential member of our workshop team as a Preparation Technician, ensuring vehicles are prepared to the highest standard for sale or customer handover.
You will play a key role in maintaining vehicle quality, safety, and presentation, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Usual Duties for a Preparation Technician include:
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) in line with manufacturer and company standards
- Completing routine servicing, maintenance, and minor repairs
- Preparing used and new vehicles for sale, ensuring they meet company quality standards
- Identifying and reporting any additional work required
- Ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and fully compliant before handover
- Supporting the workshop with general duties to maintain productivity and efficiency
- Completing all job cards and documentation accurately
- Working to tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Motor Vehicle Repair
- Previous experience in a Preparation Technician or similar workshop role
- A strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A team-focused approach with good communication skills
- A proactive attitude towards learning and development, including EV and hybrid technology (where applicable)
