We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong Xero knowledge to join our team in Darwen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a friendly office environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping function, ensuring our accounts are accurate, up to date, and ready for management reporting.
Key Responsibilities (includes but not limited to)
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
- Processing sales and purchase invoices
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- VAT returns and ensuring HMRC compliance
- Credit control
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with month-end reporting
- Liaising with our external accountants when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Xero (essential)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confidence working independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
